They leave Sant Julià wishing to come back to the 2 dies de Trial Clàssic

Most of the 240 riders, who have taken part in the 2nd edition of the 2 dies de Trial Clàssic de Sat Julià de Lòria, left Andorra clearly wanting to come back in 365 days to enjoy once more an event which takes place in a privileged setting, with the added advantage of having the obstacles adapted to the level of experience of the participants. In this case, obviously, they were adapted to the extent that the orography of the Andorran mountains would allow it.

Results of each category.

The common denominator for all the categories of the competition was the equality amongst the riders. As it can be seen, except for the comparatively comfortable victory of Oscar Mill in the BLUES category, in the others, the top positions were decided by very small time differences.

Evaluation of the participants.
Most of the riders, who signed up for the Andorran event of classic motorbikes, had gone through the experience last year and came back with a clear idea of what they would find in the mountain, these were the most widespread comments: WIthout any doubts, we have lived two days in which we’ve been able to enjoy the sport we like the most. It’s been very difficult mostly due to the strong heat we’ve suffered, although we found some relief in the areas and inter-areas with water where we could cool down and get some strength back. As far as the organizers go, I think they have done their job very well, it is obvious that setting up an event of this level has to be very difficult.

The former world champions, Mick Andrews, Yrjo Vesterinen and Bernie Schreiber, who finished both days of competition, were very pleased, even in a way surprised, by the experience and did not doubt in saying that, if they were still up for it, they would be seen again in Andorra.

Evaluation of the organizers.
The organizers went through, perhaps, the moments of most tension on the days before the arrival in Andorra of the participants; here is what they had to say: The weather forecast, without a doubt, made things very difficult for us. Trial is a sport which takes place up in the mountain and the conditions that were forecasted made everything very complicated. What’s more having 240 riders in the race…
Thanks to everybody’s civility, we have been able to get through both days without issues in this regard.

As far as the normal progression of the event goes, apparently, everything went as expected: It’s true, we’ve had to tweak things here and there as we went, but last year’s experience was also very helpful. Despite everything, the small issues that have arisen have not forced great changes. For example, we had to increase the time to enter the parc ferme, explain some last-minute details… Anyway, nothing major if we consider that we increased considerably (from 160 to 240 riders) the list of participants, with everything that such increase involves.

Most of the participants have talked about a 3rd edition of the event, what can be said about it: Well, at the moment, we want to relax a bit after all these months of work, which has been involved in organizing the 2nd edition. As it stands, we value very positively the progression of the event and we think we still feel like doing it again. Anyway, before we decide anything for sure, we want to examine some aspects which we would like to improve and see if there is a possibility to actually achieve it.
One of these aspects could be the budget, we would like to offer a bit more to the people, who come to race and as it stands we can’t quite do it.

The 2nd edition of the 2 dies de Trial Classic de Sant Julià de Lòria is now forever more in the archives of the Andorran trial. It all seems to indicate that the event has a future, if it was up to the riders there’s no doubt that it would continue.
